- Allergies, especially contrast
- Consentability
- Sedation needs
- Coagulation issues
For most procedures, we require platelets > 50 and INR < 1.5. Call us to discuss exceptions or recommendations in difficult cases.
Who to call
Weekday and Weekend AM
After hours non-VIR emergencies: Weekend PM, night, holiday
For after hours cases that do not require emergent overnight intervention, please call after 7:30am the following morning.
VIR emergencies
970-7930 (pager) Please include the patient's MRN!
IR does NOT perform LPs, abscess drains or arthrocentesis - for these, find the appropriate department here, or call 681-4422 after hours.
